TECHNOLOGY A VILLAIN !
Especially in the field of communications.
Internet, cell phones, P Cs , laptops, note books, tablets and what have you.
With these devices, we have reduced our work in communicating with people , all over the world.
Using Skype we see them when we talk to them!
What a pleasant experience, which unfortunately our parents did not enjoy!
But wait a minute,
Have we realized what we are losing in the bargain ?
Yes,its the handwriting, and more importantly, the art of letter writing !!
When did we last write a hand written letter [personal or otherwise] ?
At least I cant remember;
Right now , I only handwrite my shopping list,
or things I must do for the day
as I don't trust my memory anymore !
One might argue we type letters , using modern devices,
but do we not miss those handwritten letters,
Surely both are not the same!
Handwritten letters are unique;
One person's hand writing is different from another's;
some write with words upright ,
other's , sloping to the right
and there are some with slopes to the left. too !
Some handwritten letters look neat;
the letters, of the same size forming words which are then equally spaced.
You feel like preserving such letters for posterity.
On the other extreme there are clumsy letters which are fit to be thrown in the waste paper basket.
No two persons' handwritings are alike.
Handwriting is something unique and to cherish about.
Compare this with what we see in keyed letters, which we receive in E mails.
The letter sizes are identically similar;
this makes me at least after some time to long for an handwritten letter!
Further if we read an Email or SM S, to save space and time, grammar rules are thrown out of the window!
R for " are " U for " you " 1ce for " once " etc.
Now you realize how technology has become a villain in our lives.
What is more distressing is how writing is slowly getting removed from our Education systems.
Already in colleges, laptops etc have started displacing the good old notebooks which we carried in our student days.
It wont be far before that happens in our schools !
Oh ! How much I long for that hand written letter!
Will somebody oblige me ?

Yes...nothing like the anticipation of receiving , feeling and reading a handwritten letter from your near and dear ones which can also be preserved for posterity.
