DO YOU WANT INDIA TO WIN THE CRICKET WORLD CUP THEN YOU HAVE TO ______________________????

DO YOU WANT INDIA TO WIN THE
CRICKET  WORLD CUP?
THEN YOU HAVE TO..............???

CRICKET  fever   seems to have caught up with us what   with the ongoing WORLD CUP  in the   news  throughout the day.
Do you remember your child hood days, when our mothers forced us to drink milk or otherwise ?

Mothers would point at the moon and black mail their children  that if he or she does not drink the milk the moon would not appear on the following day.

Or she would take the name of the local policeman and say ,he would come and
take the child away ,if he fails to drink
the milk.

Be it the moon, the policeman, Pathan, Tipu Sultan, Englishman, or what have you it worked for the mother to get her job done.

NOW  with the world cup in the spotlight in all forms of the media, and in our cricket crazy country Mothers and others of their tribe use India playing the world cup as an emotional tool to their advantage.

Lets face it , today's cricket fans in India encompass  all ages,children to grand dads.and mothers;

meet anybody in the streets, markets, hote ls parks, office establishments, clubs , bed  and boardrooms, etc.,  cricket will be one of the talking points; the latest scores, and the details of the main  contributors.

Now our mothers are using this as a useful tool  to coerce her child  to drink   the milk.

The moon and others have been done away with and the child will have to drink the milk, if India is to win ,or a Dhoni/ Kohli is to score well.

Not only that but this coercion has spread  virally and everybody in the country is taking advantage of Indian  cricket and the world cup.

The beggar, near a temple, says give me some money and India  will do well.

The house wife prepares a shopping list and asks hubby to procure it expeditiously

and adds a parting shot " for India to do well " .

The dating couple give each other time and place of appointment and then there is a  rider, " don't get delayed if you want India to do well".

Then there is the office atmosphere, every body here goads  one   another to finish his or her work in time and  efficiently, then only they can enjoy the next  India game and for India  to do well.

At the hotels,
restaurants, items on the menu card such as googly or all rounder halwa have sprung up and the waiter with that everlasting smile of his , says " Today India is playing Sir, please try our special " Googly  halwa" and wish our country luck.

For the off springs of the  super rich, it is the right time to strike gold.  " DAd, India is keeping on winning, but have you seen the latest Honda Bic in the show  room"

 "No, but Why?"

"Dad, I have to pay ten lakhs to book it as advance."

"Oh but I alrea dy gave you money before the tournament started"

" That's  right Dad,  and India is winning."

" Good , then what is this for ?  "

"Dad, don't you understand ? This is for India to win the Cup ! "

Like all good things,  This tamasha, [entert ainer] will finally  come to an end on March 29.

Until then  lets wish the team all the luck and as the cricket ad  in the media screams, "WE wont give it back "
